A Homegoing Celebration: Lawrence Crift Sr.

Lawrence Crift, Sr. was born on March 13, 1958, in Tillar, AR to the late Humphrey and
Artious Crift. He departed life on February 23, 2025 . He was one of fourteen children. He attended most of his school years at Delta,
formerly known as Desha Central, before moving to McGehee where he graduated from McGehee
High School in 1976. During his time at McGehee High School he formed a close relationship with
his crew and became known as their “Babycake.” He had five brothers Humphrey Sr., Marion,
Aaron, Ira Lee, and Habert Sr and three sisters Gloria, Flossie, and Bobbie whom all have preceded
him in death.
The Lord continued to show favor and blessed Lawrence with two daughters, Tashia and
Parrish, and one son, Lawrence Crift Jr. On December 4, 2010, he married Jaime, adding to his
family another son, Peyton, and another daughter, Haley. Lawrence was a proud father and
husband and dearly loved his family.
Lawrence confessed a hope in Christ and was a proud member of St. Andrew Missionary
Baptist Church in Tillar, AR. He became a deacon in the year of 2012 under the leadership of Pastor
Eddie Lee Allen, Sr. Lawrence loved the Lord and showed further dedication filling more roles as
the church photographer, bus driver, choir member, assisted with janitorial duties, and took great
pride in caring for the church grounds.
Lawrence leaves to cherish his memories his wife Jaime Crift; daughter: Tashia (Chris) Bell
of Philadelphia, PA; son: Lawrence Crift, Jr, of Fayetteville, AR; daughter: Parrish Crift of
Winchester, AR; son: Peyton (Kasey) Ankney of Warren, AR; daughter: Haley (Robert) Streeter of
Arkansas City, AR; two brothers: Paul (Lillie) Dixon of Stockton, CA and Robert Crift, Sr. of Kansas
City, KS; three sisters: Ella Mae Bearden and Johnice Barnes both of McGehee, AR, Hazel Bailey of
Little Rock, AR; one aunt: Justine Colbert of Richmond, CA; four grandchildren, two great
grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
