Columbus Jackson, known to most as" Bum-Bumblebee" or "Shade Tree Mechanic", was born on February 14, 1948 in Rohwer, Arkansas. Columbus confessed faith in Christ at an early age and joined Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Rohwer, Arkansas. He attended the Wolfe Project School. He worked on the farm and drove big trucks for many years. His passion was being a mechanic.
He was united in holy matrimony to Ida Mae Reed. Born into their union were two sons. He later re-married Karen Emerson, where he gained a third son. He departed this earthly life on March 25, 2025. Columbus was preceded in death his parents Luevinia Jackson and Charlie Hudspeth, one son Columbus Jackson Jr. Three brothers: Lonnie Tolliver, Willie C. Jackson, and Robert Tucker. Two sisters: Rosezinia Tolliver and Betty Evans.
His endless love will be remembered by his wife, Karen Jackson, two sons, Edward Jackson, Lewayne Emerson, Columbus Jr's wife, 4 sisters: Nora Turner, Lucille Buckner, Ruby Daniels, and Gracie Owens, one brother James Woodberry, 12 grandchildren: Conchelle(Eugene), DeShawn and Serenity Newbolt, Olivia Jackson, Genesis and Nicholas Simmons, Keishon and Cordell Jackson, James Taylor, Braxtyn Jackson, all of Indianapolis, IN, Briana Emerson and Jordan Hampton of McGehee, AR, and two great-grandchildren Elijah Simmons of Indianapolis, In, and Kai'Mere Diamond of McGehee, AR.
