James T. Watkins was born August 25, 1933 to Willie S. and Lula Mae Watkins. He departed his

life on February 27, 2025.

He was preceded in death by his wife Mary B. Watkins, his parents Willie S. Watkins and Lula

Mae Watkins; two daughters: Etta Jane Watkins and Special Watkins; three sisters: Vivian

Watkins, Mae Jewel Watkins and Geneva Watkins; five brothers: Charley Walter Watkins,

Genet Watkins, Willie B. Watkins, Johnny Lee Watkins, and Mack Watkins; three aunts:

Kathleen Davis, Lee Estella Jones, and Inez Lindsey; four uncles: Vearthur Butler, James O.T.

Dowdy, Elsey Whitley, and Wesley Whitley.

He leaves to cherish his memories, one daughter: Jane Watkins of McGehee, AR; three brothers:

L.C. (Lutiaus) Watkins, Roy Watkins, and Tommy (Barbara) Watkins, all of McGehee, AR; four

sisters: Willie Mae Watkins and Elizabeth Neal of Pine Bluff, AR, Bobbie Watkins of Atlanta,

GA, and Edith Shepherd of Detroit, MI; two uncles: Joe Butler of Tillar, AR, Earnest Dowdy of

San Bernardino, CA; one aunt: Ruby Townsend of St, Louis, MO; four grandchildren that he

helped raised: Latasha “Tasha Boot” Williams Richard, Lanisa “Nissan” McDaniel, Whitney

”Wicky Whit” Watkins, and Joseph “Joseffff” Smith III; six stepchildren: Walter Donald Jr.,

Diane King, Katherine Donald, Betty Donald, Christine Lattimore, and Robert Branch and a host

of relatives and friends.
