James “Woodberry” Jackson Sr., age 68, was born on February 6, 1957 in Rohwer, Arkansas to the late Luevinia Jackson Toliver and the late Otis Woodberry. He passed away peacefully on September 21, 2025.
Woodberry received his education from the Arkansas School System. He worked a little bit of everywhere and held a variety of jobs. Over the years, he held jobs such as janitorial work and working at the local Cotton Gin and Rice Mill. Outside of work, he loved watching Westerns as well as sitting outside under the tree visiting with friends, family and others in the neighborhood.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers; Willie C. Jackson, Lonnie Toliver, Robert Tucker and Columbus Jackson and two sisters; Rosezina Toliver and Betty Evans.
He leaves to cherish his memory his son; James Jackson Jr. of McGehee, AR, his sisters; Ruby Daniel of Vallejo, CA, Gracie Tucker of American Canyon, CA, Lucille Buckner of Littleton, CO, a brother; Jewel Woodberry of Kansas City, a special niece; Shameka Jackson-Scott (Ronnie) of Little Rock, AR and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins & friends.
A celebration of life will be held 10:00am on Saturday October 4, 2025 at Willis Funeral Home Chapel 101 Park Street McGehee, AR, 71654. His body will lie in state one hour prior to service.
Though Woodberry is no longer with us, the impact of his love, humor, and spirit will live on in the countless lives he touched.
The interment ceremony will be held at Mount Zion Cemetery with repast following at the funeral home. Services entrusted to Willis Funeral Home, 101 Park Street, McGehee, AR 71654.
