In God's Care: Sherman Lee "BoBo" Jones
Sherman Lee “BoBo” Jones was born May 29, 1956, to the late I.V. and Pecola Jones. He was the
fifth sibling of eight born to this union. He was the grandson of the late Joseph, Albirda Shepherd
of Monticello, AR, the late Johnny and Ines Jones of Florence, AR and the late Pearl Simpson of San Francisco, CA. Sherman passed over to the other side on Sunday, October 18, 2026, while a patient at UAMS in Little Rock, AR.
Sherman joined St. Peter African Methodist Episcopal Church in McGehee, AR under the leadership of Rev. Daryell Howell. Family members who preceded him in death include his parents, grandparents, and three brothers: James Edward Jones, Larry Donnell Jones, and Tommy Jones.
Survivors remaining to cherish his memory include four siblings: sisters, Lorene (Fredrick, Sr.)
Mosby of Redfield, AR, and Glory Ann Richardson of McGehee, AR; two brothers, Ivory Jones of
Phoenix, AZ and Charles (Dianna) Jones, two uncles: Albert Shepherd of Little Rock, AR and Philip (Linda) Shepherd of Monticello, AR; four aunts: Helen Trotter of Las Vegas, NV, Maple (Horace) Ridgell of Monticello, AR, Barbara (Mose) Harris of Little Rock, AR, and Ruth (D. L.) Broughton of New Edinburg, AR; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and all of his caregivers.
Services will be held on Saturday, October 24, 2026, with public viewing starting at 10:00 a.m. and funeral services following at 11:00 a.m. at St. Peter AME Church, 102 C. D. Willis Drive, McGehee, AR 71654. Interment ceremonies will be held at Selma Cemetery with repast following at the St. Peter A.M.E. Fellowship Hall.
